Intermediate GIS

Learn how to apply typ­i­cal GIS com­mands in a vari­ety of fields such as emer­gency ser­vices, home care, hous­ing, trans­porta­tion, water, land con­sul­ta­tion, etc. Par­tic­i­pants will use a GIS tool called Quan­tum GIS (www​.qgis​.org) — a free, but pow­er­ful GIS pack­age avail­able for down­load, and will also be intro­duced to one or two online GIS tools designed specif­i­cal­ly for cer­tain aspects of First Nations GIS needs in Cana­da. Pre­req­ui­site: EXERM 4274
