Building Construction
Focus on residential wood frame construction as well as the legal requirements of construction as defined by the Alberta Building Code. Although designed for individuals with little or no construction knowledge, this course is a good review for those who already have building experience. You will be given an introduction to basic blueprint reading, interpreting structural and architectural drawings, construction techniques and basic estimating; and an overview of manufacturers and use of structural materials, aging problems, limits on design and construction, and safety for the occupant. Prerequisite EXRI 4676
