You are applying for admission to full-time studies at the University of Alberta English Language School (ELS)

Admission requirements
  1. Must have a score of at least 5.0 on the IELTS™ Academic (with no band score less than 4.5) or complete our ELS on-line Placement Test.
  2. You will be required to present a valid official copy of your language test result when you register for your course. Note that most language test scores are valid for two years.
  3. Strongly recommended that you possess an undergraduate degree.

Depending on the country you are applying from and/or your length of study, you may need to obtain a study permit. Your local Canadian Embassy or Consulate may require a Letter of Acceptance into our English Language School program in order to process your study permit.

Based on the terms you are selecting, the Letter of Acceptance that we will create for you will show that you plan to study with us for 0 months.

Length of study

For the purposes of obtaining a study permit select all the terms (up to 6 consecutive terms, up to 12 months) in which you plan to study.

Your tuition will be based only on what courses you register for, not the length of study.
