There is a growing demand for business-savvy leaders that combine technical expertise with an ability to engage teams and think strategically. In the world of technically driven enterprises, adding management qualifications to a technical background gives professionals the competitive edge needed to move into senior management positions.

The Management Development Certificate for Professional Engineers and Geoscientists from the Faculty of Extension, University of Alberta is a program developed in partnership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Courses in the program cover areas such as operational and strategic management, organizational behaviour, managerial economics, interpersonal communications, and project planning, among others. Eligibility is limited to professional members or members-in-training of APEGA.

This program is for engineers or geoscientists who want to expand their career options through formal management education. The certificate will benefit both emerging leaders and those already in management positions.
