With all areas of the supply chain increasingly impacting an organization’s competitiveness, today’s market demands skilled practitioners to support the management of complex supply chains. The Supply Management Training meets the professional development needs of practitioners with a series of tactical courses designed to provide a solid skills base.
Offered in cooperation with the Supply Chain Canada, this program will equip practitioners with the necessary skills to support the supply chain function and the related business skills to help advance their careers.
The Supply Management Training program will be of interest to early to mid-career practitioners, as well as to individuals who work outside of the supply management field but have procurement, logistics, transportation, or operations responsibilities.
Those with supervisory/management responsibility seeking knowledge of their direct reports’ supply management functional areas would also benefit from these courses.
Learners in the Supply Management Training program come from positions such as junior buyers, purchasing assistants, production planners, warehouse clerks, material handlers, logistics administrators, and inventory co-ordinators, as well as associates, analysts, and specialists.

Students are not required to apply for admission to the University of Alberta — only to register for each course on an individual basis. Once you complete all courses, apply directly to SCC for the diploma.
There are no employment or education prerequisites for this program.
This part-time program is comprised of 10 courses. Typical course load is one to three courses per term. When following this structure, students can complete the program within one to two years.
Courses do not have to be taken in any specific order, allowing students to choose the courses that best fit their schedule in any given term. Evening, weekend, and weekday learning opportunities are available to accommodate a variety of schedules.
Complete all 10 courses to be eligible to receive your Diploma in Supply Management granted by Supply Chain Canada (SCC). Once you complete all courses, apply directly to SCC for the diploma.
Once you are admitted, you can verify your program requirements by logging into the University of Alberta’s student portal, Bear Tracks, to view your Academic Advisement.
- Tuition is paid on a course-by-course basis as you register for your classes.
- Courses are GST-exempt.
- Some courses require a textbook at an additional cost.
- Eligible for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant.
