The Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act came into effect in 2018 and brought to the fore a host of new and emerging issues that are changing the face of OHS in our workplaces.

Responding to these changes, the University of Alberta created a suite of educational resources to help front-line workers, OHS practitioners, and managers keep up with the developments in the area.

OHS Emerging Issues is a series of online courses which aims to raise awareness about health and safety issues in the workplace through just-in-time learning that is relevant, accessible, and presented in easy-to-consume online microlearning modules.

This series is for anyone interested in keeping up-to-date in the area of Occupational Health and Safety. Whether you’re brand-new to OHS, looking for ways to support your current OHS position, or starting a new role in management or HR, the courses in this series will provide you with introductory content on emerging OHS topics in Alberta.
